Crystallized green tourmaline transitions into very fine hair like fibers as you move closer to the termination on this specimen. Fibrous tourmaline such as this one normally form very late in the paragenetic sequence, (sequence in which minerals are formed in ore deposits) typically where there is open fluid filled spaces. This piece comes hot glued to the base pictured, but can easily be removed upon request. Please be sure to check out the video!
